Alec Hope in Red Hat - 1983 Oil on canvas 12" x 10 This is the second painting of A.D. Hope - painted in the Eltham studio after working on initial portrait for four days. This portrait came about when my mother Grace Mitchell walked into the studio wearing the red hat; Alec cheekily took it from her head and placed it on his.
